So I’ll be honest and say, I’ve seen this brand a few times on Cult Beauty and Beauty Bay and totally scrolled past it. I never actually looked at the price, I just saw the name and stupidly thought, ‘Ah, that sounds expensive’. How wrong was I?! Literally, this stuff is SO affordable. I’m talking about Deceim The Abnormal Beauty Company brand ‘The Ordinary’.
I bought a few things to try, some from Cult Beauty and some from Beauty Bay all for less than £30… what?!
The first thing I bought was Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I bought this from Cult Beauty for just £5.80. The description says it’s great for sleep deprived eyes, helps reduce puffiness and dark circles and brighten the delicate skin around the eye area. I’ve been using this morning and night as recommended and massaging a little bit into the eye area and so far it seems to be working! Its a serum, really light weight and has actually reduced some of the darkness under my eyes.
The next thing I bought from Cult Beauty was the High Adherence Silicone Primer which cost me just £3.90. So it is described as a pore minimising primer that blurs imperfections creating a ‘airbrushed’ finish. Well as some of you may know, I am in love with this product, I raved about this over on my Instagram, its just incredible! Its such as a soft creamy formula that literally locks your make up in ALL day.
I purchased the next 2 things from Beauty Bay, the first one being the High-Spreadability Fluid primer. This cost me £5.50 and claims to avoid accumulation of pigment by creating a smooth base for your foundation to spread out evenly over. I haven’t used this as much as the other primer but I have used this for a couple of nights out and it just makes your base look amazing. It also creates a dewy finish without being oily.
The last thing, the most expensive, was Buffet. This is a light weight multi-peptide serum that helps to reduce the signs of ageing. It contains Matrixyl 3000 which helps to stimulate collagen synthesis and hyaluronic acid to promote hydrating and plumping of the skin to diminish any furrows. I actually have a fine line on my forehead and this serum has actually started working! I was very skeptical at first… how can lines be filled in? But it really has! They especially don’t show through my foundation like they have done previously with more full coverage foundation.
Do they do what they say on the tin?
Yes, they are amazing and so cheap. The way the products work, I would expect to pay a LOT more than I have done. Seriously, I would highly recommend you to buy at least one, if not all, of these products. You won’t be dissatisfied. The packaging is lovely too, so simple which is what I love.
