I’m a total highlight junkie. I’ve got loads, but who ever said you can have too much highlighter in your life?? I wanted to tell you about my 2 new favourite highlighters, quite possibly the best I have EVER used! One is a powder formula and the other is liquid.
The first one is the Ofra Cosmetics highlighter in Blissful. This is by far the most incredible powder highlight I have ever used. The pigment is unreal in this product and a little bit goes a really long way. It doesn’t contain any chunky pieces of glitter meaning that when applied, it just creates a beautiful shine. The product is so smooth and creamy that it just glides onto the skin.
Also, don’t be put off by the colour of the product in its packing, it does look a bronze colour, but when applied it’s like a golden highlight with rose gold undertones. It works perfectly for my skin tone and to give you a rough idea of what my skin colour is like, I sometimes wear MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC20.
“The highlighter’s extraordinary luminosity results from our innovative liquid to baked technology. We use the highest grade pearls to provide unparalleled pigment payoff” – quote ofra website
To apply this product I use my ZOEVA 105 Luxe Highlight brush. I like to lay the brush on its side and lightly rub in the product and then apply to the tops of my cheeks and up around the sides of my temples, the bridge and tip of my nose, my chin and also just lightly above my brow bone on my forehead.
If your looking for a strong glowy powder highlight then this is 100% the one I would recommend, 1 dab of your brush into the product and you already have a gorgeous glow when applied to the skin.
So I’ve never really used liquid highlight, I’d always been a bit put off them because I wasn’t sure how to apply them and didn’t know if it would be a bit messy to use. Anyway, I took the plunge and bought the Iconic London’s Limited Edition Illuminator in the colour Original. Wow. Just wow.
I followed the instructions that they recommend on how to apply by adding a couple of drops to your cheekbones, tip of your nose and colar bones and blend out with your fingers. When I put the drops on to my face the pigment of the product was unreal and so shiny. I didn’t use my fingers to blend out, I actually used the side of my beauty blender just to ensure I got a nice even, seemless blend onto the high points of my face.
The colour is almost a champagne/gold colour, great for all skin tones I would say. They do have 2 other shades which I am desperate to try in Shine, which is a pink/pearl colour and Glow which is a terracotta toned colour.
The glow this stuff gives off is indescribable and it wore beautifully. If you love a strong glow then this is definitely your go to product. You really don’t need a lot either, so if your thinking the bottle looks small… trust me… this product will last you a long time. You won’t be disappointed.
If you want to have radiant, dewy skin then you can add a couple of drops of this to your foundation to give you that all over glow or pop it onto the high points of your face first after you’ve applied primer and before your foundation to give you a ‘glow from within’.
